Max Barskih


Mykola Mykolaiovych Bortnyk, better known by his stage name Max Barskih and alter-ego Mickolai, is a Ukrainian singer-songwriter. He was raised in the town of Kherson, Ukraine, and moved to Kiev after his graduation. He has released four studio albums, and two extended-plays.

2008–2011: Performances

In 2008, Max Barskih made his debut in performing on the Ukrainian talent show "Fabrika Zirok 2".
In 2010, Max Barskih was nominated for best performer on the Ukrainian version of MTV Europe Music Awards.
Barskih throughout his career has worked closely with the Ukrainian director Alan Badoev, who is his producer. and has directed most of his music videos. Barskih's videos have gained popularity in the CIS nations. The director preferred to use a variety of visual effects such as in the music videos for "Lost in Love | Теряю тебя" which was released in 3D format in thee CIS nations.
On 9 August 2011 he was named "Singer of the Year" at the annual award ceremony of the "Crystal Microphone".

2012: Z.Dance

In 2012, Max Barskih released the album Z.Dance. He also entered the Eurovision Song Contest Auditions for Ukraine with the English version of his song "Dance", but narrowly lost to Gaitana who represented Ukraine in Baku with her song "Be My Guest".
