Mayor of the Sheffield City Region


The Mayor of the Sheffield City Region is a combined authority mayor, first elected in May 2018, who chairs the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority. The role is currently held by Dan Jarvis who has also served as the MP for Barnsley Central since a by-election in 2011.
The office was created under the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act 2016 which allowed for the creation of 'Metro mayors' to lead combined authorities in England.
