Mbara
, or
Midjamba
, is an
extinct
aboriginal language
of
Queensland
. The
Mbara people
were
traditionally
the
neighbours
of the
Yanga
,
Gugu-Badhun
,
Yirandali
,
Wunumara
and
Ngawun
peoples
.
Yanga was
mutually intelligible
, but has also been
classified
as a
dialect
of
Biri
.
Speakers
of Mbara and related
dialects
were
affected
by the
gold
and
cattle
rushes
during the second half of the
nineteenth century
.
