Melanie Lubbe


Melanie Lubbe, née Ohme, is a German chess player who holds the title of Woman grandmaster.

Biography

Melanie Lubbe was the eldest of six siblings. She learned playing chess at the age of four from her parents. Melanie Lubbe won German Girls' Championships in U14 age group, U16 age group and U18 age group.

In 2009 she was awarded the FIDE International Women Master title, and in 2012 - Woman grandmaster title.
Melanie Lubbe studied psychology from 2010 to 2013 at the University of Mannheim and graduated with a bachelor's degree. Since February 2015 she works as a personnel consultant in Braunschweig.
Since 2015, Melanie Lubbe is married to chess player Nikolas Lubbe, who has the title of International Master.
