Mensur Mujdža


Mensur Mujdža is a Bosnian former professional footballer who played as a right back.

Club career

Early career

Mujdža began his professional career with his hometown team Zagreb.

SC Freiburg

In June 2009, he transferred to Bundesliga club SC Freiburg, and debuted on 22 August against Bayer Leverkusen.
On 12 January 2011, Mujdža extended his contract until 2016.
Mujdža scored his only goal against 1. FC Köln, in a 4–1 victory on 28 April 2012.
In 2015, he became the vice-captain of his team.

1. FC Kaiserslautern

After his contract expired, Mujdža signed for 1. FC Kaiserslautern on 28 August 2016. However, an injury sustained during pre-season training, diagnosed as articular cartilage damage, kept him out for the whole season and he left the club without playing a single game.
On 14 November 2017, Mujdža announced his retirement from professional football.

International career

Mujdža represented Croatia on various youth levels.
In May 2010, Mujdža confirmed that he would opt to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future. Mujdža earned his first call-up for matches against Sweden and Germany in June 2010. On 10 August 2010, he made his debut in a friendly game against Qatar.
Mujdža was named in Bosnia and Herzegovina's squad for their first major tournament, 2014 FIFA World Cup. He made his tournament debut on 16 June, in a 1–2 loss against Argentina.

Personal life

Mujdža's family is from Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina. His older brother, Jasmin, also played for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
