Michael Davenport (diplomat)
Michael Hayward Davenport is a British diplomat, currently serving as British Ambassador to Kuwait.
Davenport studied French and German at Cambridge University. He lectured at Graz University in Austria from 1983-1984 and then trained as a solicitor.
He changed careers to join the Foreign Office in 1988, starting as a Desk Officer in the East Africa Department. From 2010-2013 he served as British Ambassador to Serbia and after a spell as Head of the EU Delegation in Serbia, he was appointed to lead the British mission in Kuwait.
