Michael Dickinson (biologist)


Michael H. Dickinson is an American fly bioengineer and neuroscientist, and Zarem Professor of Biology and Bioengineering at the California Institute of Technology. He studies Drosophila flight control systems and sensory processing.
He graduated from Brown University with a B.S. in 1984, and from University of Washington with a Ph.D. in 1989.
He was previously part of the faculty at the University of Chicago, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Washington.
He is a Monitoring Editor at the Journal of Experimental Biology. He was a course director of the Neural Systems and Behavior course at the Marine Biological Laboratory.
