Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (season 1)


The first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is an American television series created by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy, which began airing on August 28, 1993, on the Fox Kids Network. The fictional series follows events in the lives of five, later six, teenagers with superpowers, who were chosen by the wise sage Zordon to become Power Rangers to stop the evil Rita Repulsa from taking over Earth. The first season included 60 episodes and concluded its initial airing on May 23, 1994. The first season of MMPR uses footage and elements from the Super Sentai series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger.

Synopsis

The season focus on five teenagers: Jason Lee Scott, Trini Kwan, Zack Taylor, Kimberly Hart, and Billy Cranston, who are given the ability to morph into "Power Rangers" by Zordon to stop Rita Repulsa's evil schemes. Later, Tommy Oliver is introduced as a villain, but later becomes the sixth team member. Together they continue to foil Rita's plans along with her second-in-command Goldar, the bumbling duo, Squatt, and Baboo and the monster maker Finster. Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull act as comic relief, at Angel Grove High, where the Rangers attend school.
