Milford, California


Milford is a census-designated place in Lassen County, California. It is located on Mill Creek south of Litchfield, at an elevation of 4222 feet. The population was 167 at the 2010 census.
The settlement began when Judson Dakin and J.C. Wemple opened a mill at the site in 1861. The first post office at Milford opened in 1864 and closed for a period during 1879.

The 2010 United States Census reported that Milford had a population of 167. The population density was 31.5 people per square mile. The racial makeup of Milford was 150 White, 1 African American, 1 Native American, 1 Asian, 1 Pacific Islander, 4 from other races, and 9 from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11 persons.

There were 69 households, out of which 22 had children under the age of 18 living in them, 35 were opposite-sex married couples living together, 9 had a female householder with no husband present, 3 had a male householder with no wife present.
