Millie Boyle
Millie Boyle is an Australian rugby league and rugby union footballer. She has played for the Australian Capital Territory in the National Women's Rugby Championship, and for Bond University Rugby Club in the University rugby sevens competition. In 2017, she was called up to the National Women's Rugby Championship for that years Women's Rugby World Cup. She is currently contracted the Brisbane Broncos NRLW side and a representative for the Australian Jillaroos National Rugby league team.Career
Millie Boyle's family has several links to rugby league, as both her father David Boyle and uncle Jason Croker played for the Canberra Raiders. Boyle's brother, Morgan, plays for the Gold Coast Titans. She has three sisters that support her career and her passion for rugby league. Until the age of 12, she played rugby league with boys.
When Boyle was at school, the only form of rugby available was rugby union and so she began playing that type of rugby football instead. When Boyle was in year 9 of school, she played for the Brumbies schoolgirls team. When Bond University Rugby Club offered her a playing position in the University rugby sevens league, she moved from her native Canberra to the Gold Coast.
In the National Women's Rugby Championship, Boyle plays for the Australian Capital Territory, making her debut in 2016. At the age of 19, she was called up to the Australia women's national rugby union team, known as the Wallaroos, for the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland. Boyle was the youngest player to be selected. She had impressed while playing for the team in the Four Nations tournament, which the Walleroos officials stated was the reason for her selection at the World Cup.
