Mir Pur is one of the 51 union councils of Abbottabad District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. It is located at an altitude of 1251 metres and lies in the west of the district. The population of the union council Mirpur was 46,206 in the 2017 census. Now the government have established this union council into three village councils. These are VC1,VC2 and VC3. Majority of the residents of Mirpur are Jadoon, Awan, Tanoli and Gujjars. Mirpur is one of the highly populated union council in District Abbottabad. Surrounded by beautiful mountains from all four sides makes this Union council Mirpur beautiful place among different Union councils. It is popular for its natural water spring named as Chashma Mirpur where fresh water comes from the naturally built waterways from inside the mountain. People of Mirpur are very hospitable and kind. They have their own traditions and culture. Football is the main sport of the people among other sports. Mir Pur has produced big names in the world of football and several players played for the national and provincial clubs. SEWAGE SYSTEM OF MIRPUR; Open Drains In MY Locality Union Council Mirpur; In my locality named union council Mirpur Of District Abbottabad, Combined Sewage System with open drains is currently available for the drainage of the sewage and stormwater. It is not working satisfactory because due to the open drains there is always a bad smell is present which irritates the passerby eachday.Alao there is a chance of blockage due to the solid waste falling in the sewers.In a rainy season, excess amount of the rain water is very difficult to pass through the drains.It will causes urban flooding, damages to the valuables properties of the people living in the locality, uneasiness in mobility of the people, weakening of the foundations of the buildings.Another major disadvantage is the coming out of feces from the drain which spread out on the road surface and cause several viral and bacterial diseases i.e. Typhoid, Hepatitis A,Cholera, Diarrehia e.t.c. Direct throwing of the untreated sewage is polluting the fresh water of the lakes,canals,rivers. It is also threatening the life of marine animals like fishes and other aquatic animals. Suitable Sewer System For Our U.C Mirpur is Combined System: The most suitable sewer system for our locality union council Mirpur is Combined sewer system.The main reason is the narrow streets and roads as well as less costly.This system is carrying sewage most of the time of the year except in monsoon season.The heavy rains in the monsoon season is the time in which both sewage and storm water travel together in the sewer pipes.There may be a chance of the overflow during monsoon season but we can neglect it as it is in exceptional cases.The most important thing is the maintenance and rehabilitation of the of the drains with the passage of the time to continue the flow of swage and storm water smoothly.
