Miru (goddess)
In the Polynesian mythology of the Cook Islands, Miru is a goddess who lives in Avaiki beneath Mangaia. She intoxicates the souls of dead people with kava and then burns them eternally in her oven. The Tapairu are her daughters. Also see Tau-Titi.
Miru also features in Maori mythology as the Goddess of Death as reported by an article by Victoria University. She is also called the Queen of the Spirit World according to Micha F. Lindemans, and has four daughters and a son, Tau-titi.
