Miss Asia Pacific International

Miss Asia Pacific International is a beauty pageant headquartered in Manila, Philippines. It is the oldest such pageant in Asia and it is currently headed by Jacqueline Tan-Sainz.

History

Miss Asia Pacific International was founded in 1968 as Miss Asia Quest and was first open to contestants from Asia and Oceania and served as a regional pageant for delegates within the Asia Pacific region. The title was changed to Miss Asia Pacific Quest in 1985 when contestants from countries in the Americas that border the Pacific Ocean were allowed to participate and compete. In 2005, the current title of Miss Asia Pacific International was chosen and contestants from all over the world were allowed to participate in the competition.
In 2005, winner Leonora Jimenez Monge from Costa Rica was dethroned after participating in the rival Miss World contest and runner-up Yevgeniya Lapova was given the title instead. The pageant was then suspended after the conclusion of the 2005 edition.
In 2016, the pageant was revived and the winner of Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 was Tessa le Conge of the Netherlands.
The current title holder is Chaiyenne Huisman from Spain. She was crowned on the 9th of October 2019.
