Miss Nippon


The Miss Nippon Contest is a beauty pageant that has been held by a diet gym company and a newspaper company Sports Nippon every year in Japan.

History

The Miss Nippon contest was first organized in June 1931. The second edition ran in 1934. The goal of the first editions of the Miss Nippon contest was to locate and record women with pure blood and ideal body proportions to demonstrate the success of the country's eugenics and social hygiene policies.
