Miss Universe 2010
Miss Universe 2010, the 59th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 23 August 2010 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Jimena Navarrete of Mexico was crowned by Stefanía Fernández of Venezuela as her successor at the end of the event. This is Mexico's second win at Miss Universe.

Dethronment and reinstatement
- — Maria Venus Raj was originally dethroned of her official title due to contestation of her true citizenship. The issue was later corrected and national director Stella Araneta restored her titular rights. Raj was also able to obtain a Philippine passport as proof of her candidacy and citizenship.
Replacements
- ' – Alejandra Barillas was Miss Universe Guatemala 2010 until she injured her left foot in an accident. This stopped her from participating in the pageant. She was replaced by one of her runners-up,. She competed 1 year later at Miss Universe 2011.
- ' – Alexandra Catalina Filip was Miss Universe Romania 2010 but 1st runner-up, Oana Paveluc, represented Romania instead.
- – Turkey sent Miss Turkey World 2010, Gizem Memic, because its Miss Universe 2010, Serenay Sarikaya, was below 18 and did not meet the age requirement.
Withdrawals
- ' – The Miss Bulgaria Organization did not send a representative to compete in Miss Universe 2010.
- ' – On 8 September 2009, it was announced that the Miss Cayman Islands 2009 contest would not take place due to lack of funding and sponsorship. Since the winner of that contest also competes in Miss World, there was no Caymanian representative to Miss World 2009 either.
- ' – Valeri Kirss, Estonia's national director, was selling the Eesti Miss Estonia pageant.

- ' – Original contestant Nikolina Lončar was not allowed to participate because she was only 16 at the time of her crowning. She later participated in Miss Universe 2011.
- ' – Miss Namibia 2010, Odile Gertze, was crowned on 31 July 2010. Since that was only one week from the official start of Miss Universe 2010, national director Connie Maritz decided not to send the winner to Miss Universe but to Miss World 2010 instead.
- ' – Miss Vietnam Photogenic 2005 - Phạm Thị Thanh Hằng, who competed in Miss Intercontinental 2005, was invited to participate in Miss Universe 2010. She declined due to lack of preparation time and Vietnam subsequently withdrew from the 2010 pageant
