Miss Universe Iceland


Miss Universe Iceland is a national Beauty pageant that selects Iceland's representative to the Miss Universe pageant. This pageant is unrelated to Miss Iceland contest.

History

In 2016, Jorge Esteban and Manuela Osk Hardardottir were awarded the franchise for Miss Universe Iceland by the Miss Universe Organization. The 2019 Miss Universe Iceland competition was held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Stapi Hall in Hljómahöll located in Njardvik, Iceland, where Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir, 20 years old, captured the title of Miss Universe Iceland 2019 and earned the right to represent Iceland at the 68th Miss Universe competition in Atlanta, GA USA where she placed in the Top 10, the highest placement for Iceland since 1962 and a return to the semifinalists group since 2009, when Ingibjorg Egilsdottir, placed in the Top 15. Miss Universe Iceland 2020 is scheduled to occur August 21, 2020. Previously the Miss Iceland pageant would select the representative to Miss Universe.
