Mitchell Sanford
Mitchell Sanford was an American lawyer and politician from New York.Life
On September 27, 1823, he married Sarah Wells, and they had three children.
He was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1838.
He was a Whig member of the New York State Senate in 1840.
In March 1861, Sanford was retained to defend Assemblyman Jay Gibbons at the latter's trial before the Assembly on charges of bribery, but Sanford died unexpectedly.
He and his wife were buried at the Greenville Cemetery.
