Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor is the son of a business magnate, investor and the vice-chairman and CEO of the Al Habtoor Group,. one of the largest conglomerate corporations in the UAE. Born into one of the largest business families of Dubai. Mohammed Al Habtoor oversaw the diversification of the group into the real estate, hotels, education, insurance, hospitality, automotive and publishing industry. He is responsible for the growth of the Al Habtoor Group and as well as the launch of a number of major enterprises. Mohammed Al Habtoor has overseen the development of Al Habtoor City, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, Al Habtoor Business Tower, and Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
Biography
Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor was born on September 30, 1968 in Dubai to the business tycoon, Khalaf Al Habtoor, the founder of The Al Habtoor Group and the third wealthiest man in United Arab Emirates. After completing his schooling in Dubai Al IttihadPrivate School, Al Mamzar he went to the United States for higher studies. He earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the ATI Career Institute and certifications in varied business disciplines at University of Surrey, University of Slough and the Cornell University. As a young man, in 1990, he returned to Dubai which was in the midst of the real estate boom. He has been involved in the creation and growth of a number of enterprises to develop and manage projects in hospitality, business parks, real estate, automotive, publishing, insurance and education through six operating units: Habtoor Hotels, Al Habtoor Real Estate, Al Habtoor Publishing, Emirates International Schools, Diamondlease and Al Habtoor Motors. As of October 2010, he holds the position of CEO and Vice Chairman of Al Habtoor Group LLC. Through the Al Habtoor Group, in 2010 he was developing a number of themed developments in Dubai, including Al Habtoor City, Metropolitan Sheikh Zayed Road, Oasis Villas and Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
Sporting interests
Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor has played polo professionally in international tournaments for the Habtoor Polo team. He founded the Dubai Polo Gold Cup in 2009, the highest handicap international polo tournament in the Middle East. Six years later, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup emerged as the biggest tournament in the Middle East.

Mohammed Khalaf Al Habtoor is a member of the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation, founded by his father to support and develop medical, cultural and humanitarian projects. The Foundation is based in Dubai, UAE.
