Monica Katebe Musonda is a Zambian lawyer who turned into an entrepreneur. She has a number of positions and awards but is best known for founding and then leading a Zambian-based food-processing company.

Life

Musonda was born in Zambia. She earned her first degree at University of Zambia and later studied at the University of London.
She was a successful lawyer operating in London when billionaire Aliko Dangote persuaded her to focus not on the law but on business opportunities. She went on to lead a food-processing company based in Zambia which intends to supply good food at low cost. An early product was noodles, but she went on to develop a breakfast snack and Num Num’s corn snacks.
Monica Musonda was appointed as a member of the CAF Governance and Ethics Committee. The Charities Aid Foundation supplies financial services to 1,250 charities and its profile has increased as US/UK anti money laundering rules has threatened existing charity bank accounts because they are considered high risk.
Musonda sits on the jury of the Cartier Women's Initiative. The UN Secretary General appointed her to help organise the "Scaling Up Nutrition Movement".
