Monument to Sergei Yesenin in St. Petersburg

Monument to Sergei Yesenin is a sculpture representing the Russian poet Sergei Yesenin on a small pedestal, it is located in Tauride Garden in the centre of St. Petersburg.
The statue is made from white marble and allocated against a park landscape; the poet is represented sitting, its pose expresses thoughtfulness.
For the fourteen years which the monument has spent in the Tauride Garden, it has exposed time and again to attacks by vandals: the monument not only has been painted, but also lost a nose and fingers. After being damaged for a fourth time in 2009, the decision to make the monument less accessible was made, although it has not been decided when this will be completed.
