Cairo, Egypt

launched

February 1999
.
The
museum
is located in the
Zamalek
district
on
Gezira Island
on the Nile
, just
west
of
downtown Cairo
. It is
situated
within the
Prince Amr Ibrahim Palace
, built in
1921
.
As of
January 2019
, it has been
closed
for
restoration
for at least 2 years.
