MySims Agents

MySims Agents is a pair of 2009 Electronic Arts mystery-simulation video games developed for the Wii and Nintendo DS.

Gameplay

Wii

In the Wii version of MySims Agents, the player is a member of the Sim Protection Agency and must solve cases. As part of their work in the Sim Protection Agency, the player eventually unlocks a headquarters that they can decorate using furniture they find in the game. Players are also able to hire sims they meet during gameplay as junior agents, who are able to solve their own cases. Players are able to use several tools to solve cases; such as the wrench used to take apart objects, the magnifying glass, which is used to track the footsteps of subjects, and the crowbar, used to open objects.

Nintendo DS

In the DS version, players take the role of an undercover agent trying to stop the plans of a thief. The player must also play several minigames.

Critical reception

Wii

According to Metacritic, the game received "generally favorable" reviews.
The game's dialogue was criticized by some, with GameSpots Rausch saying that much of it "just falls flat, though, and many of the Sims you'll interact with come off as boring", and IGNs Matt Casamassina saying that "much of the comedy, particularly from your sidekick character Buddy, isn't very funny", and that much of the game's dialogue is "sickly sweet".
Casamassina of IGN praised the games visuals, saying that "it's all well done, even if the style is inherently simple."

Nintendo DS

According to Metacritic, the game received "mixed or average" reviews.
IGNs Casamassina criticized the game for its minigames, calling them "disappointingly tedious and long."
