My Name Is Barbra


My Name Is Barbra is the first of two studio album tie-ins to Barbra Streisand's Emmy award-winning CBS-TV debut special My Name Is Barbra, which aired on April 28, 1965 and was choreographed by Joe Layton. The album was certified gold and peaked at #2 on the US charts.
Streisand's brother Sheldon shot the front cover photograph when she was five years old.
A digitally restored and remastered CD was released in 1990.

Song information

Streisand won a Best Vocal Performance, Female Grammy award for the album, her third in the category and fourth overall.
The National Association of Recording Merchandisers named Streisand the best-selling female vocalist of 1965.
