NOAA-11

NOAA-11, also known as NOAA-H, was an American weather satellite operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It was part of a series of satellites called Advanced TIROS-N, being the third of the series. NOAA-11 was launched on an Atlas E rocket on September 24, 1988 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, United States.
NOAA 11 was launched for use in the National Operational Environmental Satellite System and for support of the Global Atmospheric Research Program during 1978–1984. The satellite design provided an economical and stable sun-synchronous platform for advanced operational instruments to measure the earth's atmosphere, its surface and cloud cover, and the near-space environment.
The last contact occurred on June 16, 2004.
