Nathalie Arthaud


Nathalie Arthaud is a secondary school economics teacher and French politician. She is the Lutte Ouvrière candidate for the 2012 presidential election and the 2017 presidential election. She is a native of Peyrins, Drôme, France.

Political background and candidacy

In 2007, Arthaud was a teacher and spokeswoman of Arlette Laguiller's presidential bid.
During the press conference following the annual meeting of Lutte Ouvrière, December 8, 2008, Nathalie Arthaud officially designated as spokeswoman of the party.
As a new leader of Lutte Ouvrière, Arthaud led the party's campaign for the European elections in June 2009. She topped the list in the South-East constituency where she obtained 24,727 votes.
At the regional election of 2010 in Rhône-Alpes, the party obtained 24,294 votes.
On 5 December 2010, Arthaud was designated candidate of Lutte Ouvrière in the presidential election of 2012.
Arthaud is also an elected town councillor for Vaulx-en-Velin, in charge of youth matters.
