Nepal Engineering Council


Nepal Engineering Council is an independent government body to regulate engineering practices in Nepal. The council used to register based on certificates until 2019. In December 2019, a bill was amended which makes mandatory to take professional exams from the council to get practising license; the exam is conducted twice a year. As of 2020, there are 35 engineering field for which liscnese are issued.

Nepal Engineering Council has the following Councilors:
  1. Three engineers appointed by the government of Nepal
  2. President of Nepal Engineers Association
  3. Five engineers elected from Nepal Engineering Association
  4. One member from Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University
  5. one campus chief from various engineering colleges
  6. Registar
  7. Two members elected by the council
