Nkwanta South District
The Nkwanta South District is one of the eight districts in the Oti Region, and was previously in the Volta Region of Ghana. Its capital and administrative centre is Nkwanta.History
The Nkwanta South District was one of the 28 new districts inaugurated officially on 29 February 2008 by the then president of Ghana John Agyekum Kufuor. The former Nkwanta District was split in 2008 into this district and the Nkwanta North District. Nkwanta, the capital of the former Nkwanta District remains as the capital of the new Nkwanta South District. The old Nkwanta district was itself carved out of the Kete Krachi District in 1989.Location
