Noćaj


Noćaj is a village in northern Serbia. It is located in the Sremska Mitrovica municipality, in the Syrmia District, Vojvodina province. The population of Noćaj is 2,120 people, and most of its inhabitants are ethnic Serbs.

Geography

Geographically, Noćaj is situated in the northern part of the Mačva region which belongs to Vojvodina. The Special Nature Reserve Zasavica is located near the village of Noćaj.

Historical population

It is known as the place of origin of Stojan Čupić. He was called 'Zmaj od Noćaja'. The football club from Noćaj is called 'Zmaj'.
