No More Robots

No More Robots Ltd is a British video game publisher based in Manchester, England. The company was founded by Mike Rose, previously of publishing company tinyBuild, alongside investors Simon Carless and Jas Purewal. The publishing label originally found success with digital games Not Tonight and Descenders, and now works with various development studios for titles across PC and console gaming platforms.
Following the success of Descenders, No More Robots published management simulator Not Tonight, which was widely covered in the mainstream media for its dystopian take on Brexit. In 2019, the publishing label released Independent Games Festival-nominated operating system simulator Hypnospace Outlaw, card-based roguelike Nowhere Prophet, and are also planning to release first-person role-playing title Family Man.

Modus Operandi on the advertising of games

No More Robots became quickly known amongst the indie game dev community because of their peculiar way of advertising games using Discord, the gaming-based communication platform, in a non linear way, they did what was to be eventually named by Mike Rose himself as Meta Games.
Meta Games are small pieces of the universe from the game being advertised in which the participants can act and play in, all that to a single common goal that is usually the release of the game beta and sometimes the game release.
In the Meta Games, the participants take decisions and must resolve urgent situations for the game to be able to continue, decisions such as the path that had to be chosen and explored during the Nowhere Prophet Meta Game and situations such as the Merchantsoft Mole that had to be found by a small group of players in a strategic way involving a map during the Hypnospace Outlaw Meta Game.
Everytime No More Robots announces a new game they make a meta game to go with it, these meta games are usually such a buzz that only their creation suffice to create a significant player base.
