Nokari


Nokari is a village in Ranaghat II CD Block in Ranaghat subdivision of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal, India

Demographics

As of the 2011 Census of India, Nokari had a total population of 5,032, of which 2,582 were males and 2,450 were females. Population below 6 years was 443. The total number of literates in Nokari was 3,583.

Education

is the only primary school of Nokari. Students of Nokari prefer to go Purnanagar PCHS School and Pal Choudhury High School for high school education. A large number of students are the alumni of Ranaghat College.

Transport

A short stretch of Ranaghat-Duttapulia Road connects Nokari to Aistala, where National Highway 12 meets State Highway 11.

Nokari flower market provides a variety of flowers for decorations and other purposes.

Politics

During the 1990s this area was dominated by Communist Party of India but since the election of 2011 All India Trinamool Congress had been in power. In the 2018 West Bengal Panchayat elections BJP took the power from TMC by defeating them by 65 votes.
