Critical reception

editor Alex Henderson wrote that Heavy D & the Boyz' remake of "Now That We've Found Love" is "melodic, very R&B-ish" and "fun and escapist in nature". Larry Flick from Billboard said the song is a "fab hip-house interpretation of the Third World nugget." He noted that producer Riley "adds a mainstream gloss that could spark a top 40 breakthrough hit." BuzzFeed listed the song at number 59 in their list of "The 101 Greatest Dance Songs Of the '90s" in 2017. James Bernard from Entertainment Weekly called it a "fast-paced hip-house jam". Australian music channel Max placed the song at number 613 in their list of "1000 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2013. Eric Deggans from The Pittsburgh Press described it as "reggae-flavored" in his review.
