Nukku


Nukku is a locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia.

History

The locality name was formerly a railway station name, used from 19 December 1912, reportedly using an Aboriginal word, meaning watershed.
Nukku State School opened on 28 May 1928. It closed on 1967. The former school building now houses the Roy Emerson Museum in Blackbutt.

Notable residents

Tennis great Roy Emerson attended Nukku State School for his early education.
