O Su-yong


O Su-yong is a North Korean politician. He is a Vice Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and the director of the Economic Affairs Department of the WPK.

Biography

Born in Pyongyang, South Pyongan Province, during the Japanese occupation in 1944. In September, he was appointed as the first vice chairman of the Electronic Automation Industry Ministry. Following the rise of the Metallurgical Machinery Industry Ministry in September 1998, and moved to the Electronics Industry Ministry in December 1999.
In April 2009, he resigned from the electronics industry Ministry and was appointed to the cabinet's deputy prime minister. He resigned from the cabinet's deputy prime minister in June 2010 and was appointed as Secretary of the WPK North Hamgyong Provincial Party Committee from July of the same year. In September 2010, he was elected to the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
