Oonagh (singer)


Senta-Sofia Delliponti is a German singer, songwriter and actress. Since January 2014, she uses the stage name Oonagh. Her signature musical style is inspired by the mystical lore of J. R. R. Tolkien's universe and by ethnic sounds throughout the world.
She had her breakthrough in Star Search, a television talent show. She released a Christmas album with TV Allstars in 2003.
In 2015, she was a guest singer on the Celtic Woman album . She sang the theme song to Big Brother in Germany in 2007.

Biography

Senta-Sofia Delliponti is the daughter of an Italian father and a Bulgarian mother and grew up in Gifhorn, Lower Saxony. Her father Maik Delliponti is a pizza maker and her mother Elena Delliponti a music teacher. Her names were inspired by the actress Senta Berger and the capital of her mother's homeland, Sofia. She has a younger brother. She participated in music competitions and was on stage in Musical Jim Button. In 2006, she completed her secondary school diploma. From 2007 to 2010, she completed training in drama and vocals at Drama School Charlottenburg in Berlin. In December 2017, she gave birth to a daughter.

Career

On 12 July 2003, Delliponti made her first appearance on the Talent Show Star Search on Sat.1. She participated in the category Music Act of 10 to 15 years and was able to prevail until the finale. Behind her associate act Daniel Siegert, she finished second on 10 August 2003.
