Předklášteří


Předklášteří is a village and municipality in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of, and has a population of 1,453.
Předklášteří lies approximately north-west of Brno and south-east of Prague.
The main historical and tourist attraction is the Porta coeli Convent - a 13th-century women monastery with unique architecture in the Czech Republic.

Getting there

By car

From Brno use road 43 direction Svitavy. Use exit Kuřim and Tišnov and follow the road 385 through Kuřim and Tišnov. In Tišnov there is a traffic circle—continue straight. Předklášteří is the first village right after exiting Tišnov. After entering Předklášteří, turn left at the first crossroad to the village center. In the village you can find a local street signs, which will help you to locate the monastery.

By public transport

From Brno take train line S3 and get off in Tišnov. There you can take a bus or you can use the blue Trail blaze and walk from the railway station to Předklašteří.
