Pasambahan

Pasambahan is a traditional Minangkabau dance that develops in various regions in the province of West Sumatra, Indonesia. This dance was performed in a welcoming ceremony which was intended as a welcome and an expression of respect for the guest of honor who had just arrived. But nowadays, Pasambah dance is displayed not only in welcoming guests, but also in the art of staging and performing as a means of entertainment for many people.
Post-dance is displayed when guests arrive from afar, or when the groom arrives at the bride's house. Guests who arrive then are shaded with oversized umbrellas in honor of the guests who arrive. After the dance is added, then the event continued with a betel leaf treat in the carano to the guest. During the wedding ceremony, betel leaf treats were given to the groom as representatives of the group. Betel leaf in carano is also usually served to the parents of the bride and groom.
