Pascal Ojigwe


Pascal Karibe Ojigwe is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a defender or defensive midfielder. He also holds German citizenship.

Club career

Ojigwe was born in Aba, Nigeria. After a good season with 1. FC Köln in the 1999–2000 2. Bundesliga, Ojigwe moved to Champions League participant and local rival Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The transfer fee was believed to be DM 3.5 million and had been paid to 1. FC Kaiserslautern who only had loaned Ojigwe to Köln. On the occasion of the transfer there had been a huge public argument between then Köln and Leverkusen managers, Johannes Linßen and Reiner Calmund.
