Pauline Tully


Pauline Tully is an Irish Sinn Féin politician who has been a Teachta Dála for the Cavan–Monaghan constituency since the 2020 general election.
Previously she had been a member of Cavan County Council for the Ballyjamesduff Electoral Area, a seat she retained from 1999 until 2012 when she resigned to provide care for her children.

Early life

Tully grew up on a farm in Kilnaleck, County Cavan, where she still lives to this day.

Personal life

She teaches history at Breifne College. Tully was in an abusive marriage with former IRA member Pearse McAuley. She survived being stabbed by him 13 times on Christmas Eve 2014 in front of their two children after their separation; he was found guilty and imprisoned in 2015.
