Peer Schneider


Peer Schneider is one of the founders and currently the General Manager at IGN Entertainment.

Career

Born in Cologne, Germany, Peer Schneider graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He then moved to the United States and has attended UC Berkeley's graduate program in journalism.
Schneider founded and ran the popular Nintendo fansite Nintendojo. In 1997, he joined Imagine, where he ran N64.com, a popular website dedicated to the Nintendo 64. N64.com was later rebranded IGN64, and Schneider became one of the founders of IGN Entertainment, the company that operates the IGN website and content network across YouTube, Snapchat, OTT apps, and social channels since 1999. Schneider is currently the General Manager at IGN Entertainment, being in charge of the company's editorial, video, product, engineering, marketing, and sales organizations. He previously oversaw all of the network's editorial content direction, including that of GameSpy, TeamXbox, and GameStats.
In addition to appearing in numerous news and documentary TV programs, such as Discovery's Rise of the Video Game, Schneider's face is used in an Internet meme known as Gaijin 4Koma, which has appeared on T-shirts, in manga, and as an Xbox 360 achievement icon and PlayStation 3 Trophy icon in the game .

Personal life

Peer Schneider has a wife, who is Japanese, and three children. He resides in Northern California.
