Pent Nurmekund

Pent Nurmekund was Estonian linguist, polyglot. He was fluent in about 70 foreign languages and at the same time he was one of the leading polyglots in the world.
1930-1935 he studied Romanic and Germanic philology at Tartu University. Graduation gave him Magister Philosophiae
1955-1986 he was lecturer at Tartu University.
1950s he found Cabinet of Orientalistics at Tartu University.
1991 he got Wiedemann Language Award.
