Perses (son of Perseus)
In Greek mythology, Perses was the son of Andromeda and Perseus, and taken for Achaemenes as the ancestor of the Persians according to Plato. Apparently the Persians knew the story as Xerxes tried to use it to bribe the Argives during his invasion of Greece, but ultimately failed to do so. Perses was left in Cossaei and with the Oceanid Perse became the father of the Perseides or in other words, Achaemenid Persians.
