Perth City Hall

Perth City Hall is an events facility in King Edward Street, Perth, Scotland. It is a Category B listed building.

History

The building was commissioned to replace an earlier city hall on the same site. The new building was designed by Henry Edward Clifford and Thomas Lunan in the Classical style and completed in 1914.
The purpose of the city hall was not that of a municipal building but more of a concert hall. The building has been used as a venue for several high-profile concerts over the years, including Morrissey, as well as Conservative Party conferences. However, following the opening of the Perth Concert Hall in 2005, the city hall became vacant. In January 2019 work began on converting the city hall into a new heritage and arts attraction. The new attraction will incorporate displays on the Stone of Destiny and the Kingdom of Alba.
