Peter Done


Peter Eric Done is an English billionaire businessman, ‘founder’ and group managing director of Peninsula Business Services, established in 1983. He also co-founded, with his brother Fred Done, the bookmaking chain Betfred, which has more than 1,350 betting shops in the UK.

Early life

Done was born in Salford, Lancashire, England in February 1947.

Career

In April 2015, the Sunday Times estimated the brothers' joint net worth at £1.0 billion.

Peninsula Business Services

Done is the co-founder and group managing director of Peninsula Business Services, established in 1983, branded as Peninsula since 2016. It claims to be the UK’s largest provider of employment law, HR, health & safety and EAP consultancy services. Its subsidiaries include Employsure and Croner Group. The company is based at the Peninsula Building in Manchester and employs 759 people.
In November 2013, it was announced Done was set to invest a further £1.6 million in the enhancement and development of his HR and Absence Management system, HROnline app.
In October 2017, Peninsula's Croner Group subsidiary acquired Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, including CCH Information. In October 2017, Peninsula announced a sponsorship deal with Salford City F.C, with the newly named Peninsula Stadium being unveiled by Sir Alex Ferguson.

Employsure

In May 2012, Peninsula Business Services acquired a 65% share of Employsure, an Australian advising firm specializing in industrial relations, which was registered as a company in 2011. Employsure, which claims to be the largest in its sector with over 20,000 clients in Australia and 800 employees, has also been the subject of a ongoing prosecution by the ACCC for an alleged breach of the Australian Consumer Law.
