Philippe Panneton


Philippe Panneton was a Canadian physician, academic, diplomat and writer.
Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, he received a degree in medicine from Université Laval in 1920. In 1935 he became a professor at the Université de Montréal. In 1944 he was a founding member of L’Académie canadienne-française and served as its president from 1947 until 1953. In 1956, he was named ambassador to Portugal, and died in Lisbon in 1960.
In 1959 he was awarded the Lorne Pierce Medal.
