Pistol Youth

Pistol Youth is a long distance Indie Brit Rock band formed in 2007 by Steriogram guitarist Bradley Carter.

History

Pistol Youth was formed in 2007 by Steriogram guitarist Bradley Carter who admired the conception of Ben Gibbard’s The Postal Service so much it inspired him to start his own long distance project across the internet. He contacted three of his friends from other bands to record an EP with him across the internet. To make the EP each member had to record their own parts of the song from where they were, then send them back to Carter in Los Angeles where they were finally put together.
The band's first EP 'Smiling Can Backfire' was released in December 2007. Following the release Carter invited the other members of Pistol Youth to come visit him in Los Angeles so they could finally meet each other and write music together in the same room. Once together they started work on their full-length album My Own Private Amsterdam. A second EP followed in November 2009 'Every Eight Weeks', and their debut album was released in July 2010.
