Platt Bridge, Wigan


Platt Bridge in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, is a residential area to the south of Ince-in-Makerfield and North of Abram. After many pub closures the main two left are "The King Billy" and "Kesses". It Has a long established Traditional Barber Shop "The Barber Shop or Mikes" opposite the Community Centre, Walthew Lane. There are a few main shops such as the famous "Shergills" although this shop has changed hands a few times it is still known as this, a few bookies a Co-Op, an Iceland and a car wash. The Post Office has the famous "Handy Mans" next door once owned by "John Roberts" who is now deceased, but it's run by his sons still.
Many famous Characters/Legends have come from this area of Wigan and even a few athletes and musicians.
