Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004


was represented by Blue Café in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Love Song".

Before Eurovision

The final was held on 24 January 2004 at the TVP studios in Warsaw, hosted by Tomasz Kammel and Magdalena Mołek. There was again some of the biggest names in the Polish music industry had been tempted to take part. 15 songs competed, with the winner chosen by SMS voting. At the end of the event, "Love Song" performed by Blue Café was declared the winner.

At Eurovision

For the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, a semi-final round was introduced in order to accommodate the influx of nations that wanted to compete in the contest. Since Poland placed 7th in the previous contest year, Poland automatically qualified to compete in the final along with the Big Four countries and nine other nations that were also successful in the 2003 Contest.
Poland performed 19th, after Ireland and before United Kingdom Blue Café gave a powerful and exciting performance with a band present on stage. The lead singer, Tatiana, wore a revealing see-through dress which was darkened at the inappropriate places. Despite an elaborate performance, Poland only scored 27 points, which placed then at 17th. As Poland failed to reach the top 12 in the final, the country was forced to compete in the semi-final of the 2005 Contest.
