The community foundation is devoted to the well being of people in the region, providing organizational support to individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who wish to create permanent charitable funds. The Leslie “Bud” Vivian Award for Community Service
The Leslie “Bud” Vivian Memorial Fund at the Princeton Area Community Foundation was established in 1995 after Vivian's death. His classmates from the Princeton University Class of 1942, together with sixteen Princeton-area organizations, established the Fund to honor their friend and classmate for his service to the Princeton community. The award, the Leslie “Bud” Vivian Award for Community Service, is given annually to a member of the community who has shown strong interest in giving back to Central Jersey. The award recognizes those who showed a similar commitment to the Princeton community as Vivian did. The fund makes a grant each year to one or more local nonprofit organizations chosen by the award recipient.
