on the
near side of the Moon
. It is located at the
northern
end of the
Montes Apenninus
and
separates
the
lunar mares
of
Mare Serenitatis
and
Mare Imbrium
. Just
west
of the
mountainous
cape

Rimae Fresnel

were named after the
