Qian Kun


Qian Kun, better known by the mononym Kun, is a Chinese singer, songwriter and producer. He is a member of South Korean boy group NCT and its Chinese sub-unit WayV.

Early life

Kun was born on January 1, 1996 in Taining County, Fujian, China. He graduated from Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.

Career

Pre-debut

In December 2015, Kun was introduced as part of SM Entertainment's pre-debut training team SM Rookies. On April 4, 2016, SM Entertainment announced NCT's first unit, NCT U. Kun sung the Chinese version of the single "Without You" originally sung by Taeil, Doyoung, and Jaehyun.

2018–present: Debut with NCT, WayV and solo activities

In mid-January, SM Entertainment unveiled NCT 2018, a project involving all 18 members of NCT. On January 30, SM released a video titled "NCT 2018 Yearbook #1," which featured all prior members and introduced new members Kun, Lucas, and Jungwoo. He made his official debut on April 18, 2018, with "Black on Black".
In December 2018, Kun was announced to be a part of NCT's China-based unit WayV, managed by Label V. The seven-member unit officially debuted on January 17, 2019 with their debut EP The Vision, with Kun being the group's leader. Its lead single "Regular" was the Mandarin remake of "Regular" by NCT 127. On December 5, 2019, it was announced that Kun will be joining the MC lineup for a beauty talk show Pink Festa alongside Kim Jong-kook, Hwang Kwang-hee and more. In 2020, Kun collaborated with Super Junior-M's Zhou Mi and bandmate Xiaojun on the single "I'll Be There", released on February 28, 2020.
